The Veterans Culture Award is given to individuals and organizations that have contributed to the honor of national veterans and the spread of veterans culture. It began in 2000 and this year marks its 24th edition.
Sae Eden Church was recognized for its contributions such as hosting appreciation events for domestic and overseas war veterans and their families since 2007, sponsoring the production of four Korean War documentaries, and supporting the construction of the Jangjin River Battle Memorial in Washington and the Wall of Remembrance for Korean War fallen soldiers.
Park Min-sik, Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, stated, “True ‘first-class veterans affairs’ is realized when we properly take responsibility for and honor those who have dedicated themselves to the country until the very end.” He added, “I hope that the exemplary cases of this year’s Veterans Culture Award recipients will spread and lead to more actions, so that a culture of respect and remembrance for national veterans becomes a part of everyday life for the people.”
