'Fun&Run 2023 Winter Hot Talk Festival' 진행
From the 26th to the 28th, the Hoam Foundation will hold the winter season youth lecture series "Fun & Learn, 2023 Winter Hot Talk Festival!" both online and offline at the Vision Hall of Samsung Financial Campus in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
This lecture series is designed to help youth explore their dreams and future career paths as they wrap up the year, with themes of "Finding Dreams (Day 1)", "Day of Enthusiasts (Day 2)", and "Let's Head to the Future (Day 3)". Nine experts from various fields, including Hoam Prize laureates Hyun Taek-hwan and Professor Seon Yang-guk, will deliver lectures.
On the first day, lectures are arranged to help youth broadly understand dreams and approach them from multiple perspectives. Professor Kim Kyung-il of Ajou University will discuss what dreams and goals are truly needed in an uncertain future and how dreams differ from goals. Chemist Hyun Taek-hwan, a distinguished professor at Seoul National University, will give a lecture titled "How Does the World's Best Scientist Become?"
On the second day, the speakers are "enthusiasts" who are deeply devoted to a single field with passion and interest beyond that of experts. Hwang Jeong-ah, a principal researcher at the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute and one of the 30 young scientists shining in Korea, will spend time explaining everything about space exploration. Kim Seong-wan, a certified LEGO artist, and Yang Young-eun, a KBS reporter, are also scheduled to give lectures.
On the third day, there will be a session to learn about the latest technology trends that will unfold in our society in the near future. Han Hye-won, director of the Digital Storytelling Research Institute at Ewha Womans University, will lecture on how convergent content such as virtual worlds and artificial intelligence (AI) writing will develop in the future. Professor Seon Yang-guk will introduce next-generation secondary batteries.
This lecture series is open to all youth, who can participate either online or on-site. Individuals, schools, or class groups can join. For online participation, viewers can watch live on the Hoam Foundation’s YouTube channel.
Cha Sang-mu, team leader at the Hoam Foundation, said, "The Hoam Foundation youth lecture series, now in its 6th year, is gaining popularity year after year," adding, "It will be a meaningful time to provide new perspectives and motivation to the youth, the future of Korea."
Since 2021, the Hoam Foundation has been hosting youth lectures twice a year in summer and winter, offering lectures on science, humanities knowledge, and future career paths. It plays a role in helping youth take an interest and passion in their careers and plan for their futures independently.
