Hyundai Motor Group's U.S. urban air mobility (UAM) subsidiary Supernal will participate for the first time in CES 2024, held in Las Vegas early next year.
On the 20th, Supernal unveiled teaser images of a new UAM aircraft to be revealed for the first time at CES 2024. Supernal plans to present its strategy for building a future AAM (Advanced Air Mobility) ecosystem at this year's CES.
In its strategic announcement, Supernal will explain the roles that Supernal and Hyundai Motor Group will play across the entire AAM ecosystem, including aircraft operations and vertiports that serve as airports for UAM.
Additionally, Supernal will unveil the design of the UAM aircraft currently under development with a target commercialization year of 2028 and exhibit a full-scale model. The design and styling of the aircraft were completed through close collaboration between Supernal and the Hyundai Motor · Kia design headquarters.
All engineering and integrated aircraft design were handled by Supernal, while interior and exterior styling was led by Luke Donkerwolke, Hyundai Motor · Kia CCO (Chief Creative Officer), with the Hyundai Motor · Kia Global Design Headquarters responsible.
During the exhibition period from next month’s 9th to 12th, Supernal will set up a separate exhibition space outside the Las Vegas Convention Center reminiscent of a vertiport, allowing visitors to experience using UAM as if they were actually riding it.
