Lee Nak-yeon New Party Formation 'Speed Adjustment'... Possibility of New Party Increases

On the 20th, Woo Sang-ho, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on MBC's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' that "Lee Nak-yeon's remark that formalizing the establishment of a new party is an exaggerated interpretation seems like a slight speed adjustment," adding, "He gave the Democratic Party time until the end of the year and set no deadline, which means there are plans for other political schedules after that deadline."

Regarding the possibility of the 'Lee Nak-yeon new party,' he said, "Democratic Party lawmakers are expressing opposition or appeals to withdraw regarding the new party's establishment, so it seems the possibility of forming a new party has increased."

He also expressed the opinion that more observation is needed since no lawmakers have directly or indirectly expressed their intention to join the new party. However, he said, "By now, some lawmakers would have expressed their intention to join Lee Nak-yeon, but so far, no lawmaker has directly or indirectly expressed such intention," adding, "It seems there is no faction among the lawmakers yet."
