SK Corp. Achieves Top MSCI ESG Rating 'AAA' for Second Consecutive Year

Recognized for Two Consecutive Years Through This Year as the Only Domestic Company with AAA Rating
Acknowledged for Global Top-Level ESG Management Performance

SK Inc. has achieved the highest ratings from both global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) rating agencies, Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) and the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).

On the 20th, SK Inc. announced that it received the highest rating of 'AAA' in the MSCI ESG management evaluation for the second consecutive year. The AAA rating is awarded to only about 7% of the approximately 3,000 companies evaluated worldwide, and SK Inc. is the only Korean company to have received the AAA rating for two consecutive years up to this year. SK Inc. received the leader grade AA in 2020 and 2021, and obtained the AAA rating for the first time last year.

Based on ESG management, SK Inc. has invested in innovative technologies to achieve carbon neutrality, such as hydrogen and SMR (Small Modular Reactors). This year, SK Inc. also established a portfolio ESG management system to integrate and manage the ESG values of the companies it has invested in. The company is also focusing on board-centered management by strengthening the expertise and diversity of the board of directors, and has been implementing a shareholder return policy for two consecutive years, purchasing and retiring treasury shares equivalent to 1% of the market capitalization to increase shareholder value.

Building on these efforts, SK Inc. not only received recognition from MSCI but also achieved inclusion in the World Index for 12 consecutive years in the DJSI evaluation announced by S&P Global in early December. The DJSI evaluates about 2,500 companies worldwide, with approximately 10% included in the World Index. Notably, SK Inc. received the highest score (82 points) among about 50 companies in the Industrial Conglomerates Industry group, ranking first for two consecutive years.

Earlier, in November, SK Inc. also earned an A+ rating from the Korea ESG Standards Institute, a major domestic ESG rating agency, marking four consecutive years of A+ ratings.
