Seongbuk-gu Hosts Presentation Contest Evaluating Outstanding Projects to Foster Interdepartmental Synergy... Among 38 Projects Representing Each Department, 13 Advanced to the Contest, with 6 Final Selections... Grand Prize Awarded to ‘Park and Greenery Division Odong Forest Library’... Excellence Awards to ‘Culture and Sports Division Seongbuk City Tour’ and ‘Jongam-dong Home Repair Volunteer Service’... Encouragement Awards to ‘Welfare Policy Division Corner Discovery Team’, ‘Seokgwan-dong Multicultural Family Coexistence Project’, and ‘Bomun-dong Bomun Welfare Sarangchae’
Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) held the '2023 Administrative Excellence Project Presentation Contest' on the 19th at the Seongbuk Art Hall in the district office to conclude the year by discovering improvements in administrative systems and services, sharing and spreading outstanding administrative projects among departments, aiming to develop the district administration and improve the quality of life for residents.
At the presentation contest, 11 projects that had undergone evaluation by each bureau of the district office and 2 projects selected through an employee survey were presented. Each presenter spoke for 6 minutes, focusing on the creative problem-solving process and how they wisely overcame difficulties encountered during the projects, highlighting excellent projects that stood out in communication with residents. After the presentations, outstanding projects were selected by reflecting the on-site votes of 60 field evaluation committee members composed of seniors, colleagues, and juniors working together, as well as the scores from a judging panel consisting of the deputy mayor and university professors.
As a result of the evaluation, the grand prize was awarded to the 'Odong Forest Library Creation and Opening Project' by the Parks and Greenery Division. The excellence awards went to the 'Seongbuk City Tour Project' by the Culture and Sports Division and the 'Jipsoori Volunteer Repair Project in Jongam-dong.'
Additionally, the encouragement awards were given to the 'Welfare Policy Department’s Corner Discovery Team Project,' the 'Seokgwan-dong Multicultural Family Coexistence Project,' and the 'Bomun-dong Bomun Welfare Sarangchae Project.'
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said, “Although today’s presentation contest evaluates relative merits, as the mayor, I consider each presented project a valuable initiative and asset of Seongbuk-gu.” He urged all employees participating in the contest to learn from the concerns and administrative know-how of other departments and to carry out every task they are responsible for with a sense of mission, knowing that it directly affects the lives and happiness of Seongbuk residents, and to continue doing their best.
He also stated, “We will do our utmost to enhance the capabilities of Seongbuk-gu public officials and promote mutual communication so that Seongbuk-gu can become an even better place to live.”
