Choi Yong-seon: "I Will Devote Efforts to Making Naju and Hwasun Places Where People Want to Live"

Preliminary Candidate Registration for Naju-Hwasun District in Next Year's General Election

Choi Yong-seon, former Senior Administrative Officer of President Moon Jae-in's Secretariat, has registered as a preliminary candidate for the National Assembly election in the Naju-Hwasun district of Jeonnam next year and has begun full-scale election campaigning.

Candidate Choi stated, "Since the launch of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, they have been cracking down on electric power public enterprises, causing the Gwangju-Jeonnam Joint Innovation City to lose its vitality, while the Democratic Party politics remain extremely powerless," and added, "I decided to run to properly fight against the ignorant, rude, lawless, reckless, and factional politics of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and the prosecutorial dictatorship tyranny."

He continued, "I will diligently visit the 33 towns and townships of Naju and Hwasun to properly respond to the sovereign people's mandate for change, innovation, and reform within the Democratic Party," emphasizing, "I will devote the administrative experience and political capabilities I have accumulated through local government, the National Assembly, the Ministry of Unification, and the Blue House to creating a prosperous Jeonnam and making Naju and Hwasun desirable places to live."

He also stated, "We need a replacement of National Assembly members with the skills and strategic mindset to powerfully lead the 4th Democratic government, not those who just make loud claims in the region," adding, "I will raise the level of local politics and ensure that money-based nominations do not occur."

Candidate Choi Yong-seon has served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Ministry of Unification and as an aide to the 19th and 20th National Assembly members. He also served as the full-time deputy spokesperson of the Democratic Party and vice chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee. Notably, after the launch of the Moon Jae-in administration, he gained national governance experience by holding key positions such as Security Strategy Administrative Officer at the National Security Office, General Affairs and Personnel Administrative Officer at the Presidential Secretariat, Defense Industry Officer at the National Security Office, and Senior Administrative Officer at the Presidential Secretariat's National Situation Room.

Currently, he serves as a central committee member of the Democratic Party, spokesperson for the Democratic Party National Innovation Council, and Jeonnam Standing Operating Committee Chairperson.
