Goryeong-gun Agricultural Technology Center Wins Director of Talent Development Institute Award at the 41st Public HRD Contest

Jeon Yul-ah, a rural guidance officer of the Research and Development Team at Goryeong-gun Agricultural Technology Center in Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk, participated in the ‘41st Public HRD Contest’ held at the National Human Resources Development Institute from the 13th to the 14th and won the ‘Director of the Human Resources Development Institute Award’ in the teaching and learning (HRD Innovation) category with the theme “The Road to Farmland Scale Expansion (Subtitle: Advanced Country Agriculture Korea, Actually Farmland Scale Expansion).”

Starting with the Central Instructor Training Competition in 1983, the ‘Public HRD Contest,’ now in its 41st edition as of 2023, is an annual competition held for public officials and employees of public institutions.

A total of 59 teams from national agencies across the country participated after going through their respective agency preliminary selection contests, competing in three categories: teaching and learning (HRD Innovation and professional duties), research and development, and curriculum.

Throughout 2023, the Goryeong-gun Agricultural Technology Center has made efforts to provide diverse and extensive education, including customized training for regionally specialized crops such as Hallabong, melon, Shine Muscat, tomato, strawberry, garlic, and onion, as well as smart farm education, intellectual property rights, weather apps, fostering small-scale farmers, and agricultural technology university programs.

County Governor Lee Nam-chul said, “This competition, the largest national management contest for public official training institutions, has served as an opportunity to enhance the educational capabilities and professionalism of the Goryeong-gun Agricultural Technology Center.” He added, “We will do our best to discover competent internal instructors to improve the presentation skills of Goryeong-gun public officials both internally and externally, as well as to increase the effectiveness of specialized crop education for farmers.”
