The Bank of Korea and Low Fertility Committee Collaborate to Address Population and Regional Issues

MOU Signing for Business Cooperation on the 19th
Sharing Information on Population Structure Changes and Regional Economy

The Bank of Korea has joined hands with the Presidential Committee on Ageing Society and Population Policy to address population and regional economic issues.


On the 19th, the Bank of Korea announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Presidential Committee on Ageing Society and Population Policy to share information related to population structure changes and regional economy.


The two organizations agreed to cooperate on ▲joint policy research and expert seminars addressing population structure changes ▲sharing statistics and research data related to population structure changes and regional economy ▲establishing a regional policy cooperation system concerning local population and economy.


A Bank of Korea official stated, "Through promoting mutual information use and forming human networks, we expect to contribute to advancing research on low birthrate and regional economy, and to propose more effective policy tasks to respond to the low birthrate and regional extinction crisis and to revitalize the regional economy. Moving forward, we plan to actively pursue research and propose solutions to structural issues facing our society, such as low birthrate, aging population, and regional extinction, by strengthening cooperation with various external organizations."
