'KakaoTalk Guide' Surpasses 22 Million Visitors... 'Quietly Leaving Chat Rooms' Gains Popularity

Kakao continues its efforts to enhance user convenience.

On the 19th, Kakao announced that the number of visitors to 'KakaoTalk Guide,' which opened last April, has surpassed 22 million as of December, and the related content pages have been viewed over 63 million times.

'KakaoTalk Guide' is a page created to introduce new KakaoTalk features and how to use them, as well as to listen to user feedback. It is part of the KakaoTalk Easy (KakaoTalk Easy) project that Kakao has been conducting this year. Users can view 90 new KakaoTalk features and usage tips on the KakaoTalk Guide. It introduces newly added features and useful functions or tips that users might not have known through regularly scheduled KakaoTalk updates.

Users can evaluate their satisfaction with each of the 90 pieces of content using the feedback button provided and send their opinions to the KakaoTalk team. Users have left a total of about 650,000 cumulative feedback entries. Among these, 84% selected 'useful,' indicating a high level of satisfaction with the KakaoTalk Guide and KakaoTalk's features.

From April to November this year, the features that received the highest user favorability were ▲ Preventing phishing with Talk Siren (90.8%) ▲ Quietly leaving chat rooms (89.1%) ▲ Managing tasks with Talk Calendar (87%) ▲ Participating in KakaoTalk Labs (86.9%) ▲ Setting lock on the KakaoTalk input window (86.8%), in that order.

The most viewed KakaoTalk Guide content was 'Scheduled Messages,' the most searched content was 'How to add friends,' and the most shared content among users was the 'Sympathy Sticker' feature.

Yang Ju-il, head of KakaoTalk division at Kakao, said, “Through the KakaoTalk Easy project this year, we have received various feedback from users. Based on this feedback, we will continue the KakaoTalk Easy project in 2024 to add essential features for users, improve inconveniences and burdens, and make conversations easier for everyone.”

Meanwhile, on the 18th, Kakao added a new KakaoTalk Easy feature with AI applied, 'Conversation Summary,' to the Labs. This feature is expected to make KakaoTalk conversations more convenient by allowing users to easily check work-related information and accumulated conversations.
