The walking course introduced today is Sejong Lake Park, which has been open since 2013 and has become a mental sanctuary for the citizens of Sejong. With a total area of 698,004㎡, the lake itself boasts the largest surface area in Korea at 322,800㎡. The water quality is maintained by circulating 22,000 tons of water daily, aiming for Grade 2 water quality that can support fish such as sweetfish and shiries.
As vast as it is, the park offers the fun of combining various courses, but today we will introduce a route that circles the western side. Starting from the Central Plaza, cross Seho Bridge that spans Sejong Lake Park, pass by Water Play Island, Water Flower Island, and the Waterfront Traditional Park, and return to the Central Plaza. This is the shortest walking trail in the lake park, allowing people of all ages to enjoy a leisurely stroll without any burden.
From the Central Plaza, the heart of the park, head toward Seho Bridge, which crosses the lake park. The name is an abbreviation of 'Sejong Hosugyo' (Sejong Lake Bridge), but it also includes the Spanish word 'cejo,' meaning 'the mist that rises over rivers and streams after sunrise,' reflecting the frequent morning mist characteristic of the Geum River area.
Crossing Seho Bridge, you will find Stage Island. It is one of the five themed islands in the park?Stage Island, Festival Island, Water Play Island, Water Flower Island, and Wetland Island?and is shaped like pebbles polished over many years by the waves of the Geum River. Stage Island hosts various events and festivals, and when no special events are held, it serves as a large shaded resting area where visitors can enjoy the surrounding scenery.

Water Play Island is designed for enjoying various water activities. A sandy shoal has been created along the lake shore, giving the feeling of a silver beach like the seaside, and visitors can enjoy various water sports such as kayaking and water biking. Nearby, there is a bicycle rental shop where you can rent a variety of bicycles from single-seaters to multi-seaters. Helmets are also available for rent to ensure safety. At nearby Water Flower Island, you can observe aquatic plants with scenic and educational functions in the shallow waters.

Next, the highlight of the Waterfront Traditional Park is 'Jangnamjeong,' an octagonal pavilion built on a low hill that offers a panoramic view of the lake. Named after the nearby Jangnam Plain, it preserves the hillside landscape of the central lakeside and creates a traditional Korean waterscape, making it a traditional garden with deep charm. Finally, returning to the starting point at the Central Plaza marks the end of today's walk.
