A commotion occurred when a foreigner clung to a KTX train car because the train door was not opened for him.

The incident happened around 3:50 PM on the 15th at Gyeonggi Gwangmyeong Station. A video capturing the situation was uploaded to online communities such as YouTube. A foreign man, having missed the train time and seeing the door close, climbed between the train cars.

In the video, the man hanging between KTX cars 9 and 10 repeatedly shouts in English, "I have a ticket."

A station staff member runs over and asks, "Sir, please get down," but the man stubbornly insists, "I have a ticket," and "Let me board the train." The video ends with the man finally getting off the train after a struggle with the staff.

It is reported that the KTX train was briefly delayed due to the commotion caused by this man. Eventually, he boarded the stopped train and arrived at his destination, but it is known that he was later fined.

Article 48 of the Railroad Safety Act (Prohibited Acts for Railroad Protection and Order Maintenance) prohibits boarding or alighting from a train while it is in operation, or interfering with the opening and closing of passenger doors without justifiable reason, causing disruption to train operations.

Also, the KTX is a high-speed train that reaches a maximum speed of 300 km/h, making it practically impossible for a person to hang onto the vehicle. This incident could have led to a serious accident.
