Applications for tenancy can be submitted via registered mail, and the announcement of successful applicants will be made on March 15th next year through the websites of Daejeon Urban Corporation and the Housing Management Corporation. Move-in will begin after contract signing from April 1st to 3rd, starting April 30th.

Guam Dagaon is the first youth housing complex constructed by Daejeon City, consisting of four buildings (from three basement floors to 12 above-ground floors) located in the Guam-dong area. There are a total of 425 housing units available.

Daejeon City began construction of Guam Dagaon in July 2021 and currently reports a progress rate of 94%. Completion is scheduled for February next year.

The recruitment targets are divided into university students (38 units), youth (176 units), newlyweds and single-parent families (147 units), and elderly (64 units). The housing units offered consist of exclusive areas of 21㎡, 29㎡, and 44㎡.

Income and asset criteria vary by target group, with monthly average income per household member based on the previous year’s urban worker household data at 100% or less, and assets ranging from 850 million KRW to 3610 million KRW.

Deposits and rents are set at 60% to 80% of the surrounding market prices. The maximum residency period is six years for university students and youth, six years for newlyweds and single-parent families (10 years if there is one child), and 20 years for the elderly.

Guam Dagaon provides specialized spaces such as shared living rooms and study rooms on each floor, considering the characteristics of the tenants. It is planned as a youth-tailored rental housing with full-option features including electric stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and built-in furniture.

In particular, Daejeon City plans to apply the ‘Ai+’ project to encourage childbirth among newlyweds, offering rent reduction benefits to tenants of the 147 units supplied to newlyweds. The rent will be reduced by 50% for one child and 100% for two or more children. The reduction period is up to 10 years.

For more detailed information on the supply schedule, eligibility, tenant selection methods, and application documents for Guam Dagaon, please refer to the announcements posted on the websites of Daejeon Urban Corporation or Dagaon. Inquiries can be made through the Housing Management Corporation.

Meanwhile, Daejeon City expects next year to be the inaugural year for local youth housing supply. Starting with ‘Guam Dagaon,’ the completion and move-in of ‘Sintanjin Dagaon (June)’ and ‘Nangwol Dagaon (November)’ are scheduled to proceed sequentially next year.
