An Octogenarian Donated '20 Million Won' to Busan Yeonje-gu Office
Donation to Be Delivered to the Community Chest of Korea
An anonymous donor in their 80s felt saddened by the low temperature of the Love Temperature Tower for the Sharing Campaign at Busan Yeonje District Office and willingly donated 20 million won, which they had saved over a long period.
On the 14th, Busan Yeonje District announced that an anonymous woman in her 80s donated 20 million won with the intention of using it for the 'Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign.'
The donor expressed, "I felt sorry that the donation amount for this year's Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign Temperature Tower seemed low," and stated her intention to donate the money she had saved.
She visited the Yeonje District Office Welfare Policy Division and handed over 20 million won wrapped in newspaper, which she had saved for a long time. During the handover, when a district office employee asked for her name, she reportedly refused to reveal her identity, saying, "If you keep asking, I won't donate."
Yeonje District stated that the money entrusted by the woman will be delivered as an undesignated donation to the Community Chest of Korea.
Joo Seok-su, head of Yeonje District Office, expressed gratitude, saying, "We hope that the warm heart of the elderly person who donated the money they had saved with difficulty without revealing their name will become a warm comfort to neighbors in need during the cold winter."
