Hansol Paper's Environmental Business Division announced on the 14th that it has received the contract award notice for the Ethiopia Groundwater Irrigation and Rural Development Project.
This project is funded by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) and was commissioned by the Ethiopian Ministry of Irrigation and Lowlands. The contract amount is approximately 120 billion KRW, and the construction period is 48 months.
By winning this project, Hansol Paper's Environmental Business Division will carry out groundwater development and irrigation facility installation in the Ada-Becho area of Oromia Region, Ethiopia. The plan is to contribute to improving the supply of drinking water and agricultural water within the region.
Additionally, through the establishment of a rural technology center and the supply of agricultural machinery, the division aims to contribute to the development of the agricultural production system in the area.
A Hansol Paper representative stated, "We consider it meaningful to be able to contribute to the development of agricultural water infrastructure in the Ethiopia region," and added, "We will make every effort to ensure safe and convenient water supply to local farmers during the construction."
Meanwhile, Hansol Paper, which merged with the former Hansol EM in 2022, established the Environmental Business Division and strengthened its eco-friendly business sector by adding environmental facility entrusted operation, soil remediation, waste energy, bioenergy, and other renewable energy businesses to its business objectives.
