Kim Gwang-yeol, Yeongdeok County Governor, Holds 'Field Communication Day' with Multicultural Families Kim Kwang-yeol, Yeongdeok County Governor, held a Multicultural Family and Field Communication Day.

At this event, immigrants representing about 280 multicultural households in the area from six nationalities?Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, China, and Cambodia?participated and shared the challenges they have faced during the adaptation and settlement process, such as communication, employment, and children's education, together with Governor Kim.

During the process, Ian-guk, director of the Yeongdeok-gun Family Center, suggested that it would be beneficial to provide quality education so that multicultural families moving into the area can enter society after sufficient adaptation. Governor Kim expressed his agreement and decided to actively consider this proposal.

Additionally, Governor Kim instructed the on-site staff to promptly resolve and prepare support measures for a multicultural family facing difficulties due to a spouse's illness and inadequate home water facilities.

Regarding the opinion that a program to learn Korean cuisine is needed, Governor Kim responded that he would consider a mentoring system to teach cooking methods through volunteer groups and women's organizations.

The representatives of multicultural families who participated in the discussion agreed to use this event as an opportunity to strengthen bonds for stable local settlement in the future and to share this with Yeongdeok-gun and the Yeongdeok-gun Family Center.

Furthermore, Yeongdeok-gun and the Yeongdeok-gun Family Center decided to prepare practical support measures for multicultural families based on the shared content from the day and to further supplement various projects promoted for multicultural families.

This "On-site Communication Day" event was a project to realize Governor Kim Gwang-yeol’s and the 8th term of local government’s administrative goal of "communication administration sharing hearts." Governor Kim arranged eight sessions throughout the year to communicate with residents from various sectors, including company representatives, youth representatives, and women's organizations, sharing and reflecting their input in administration.
