Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Yoon Kyung-hee) was selected as the best institution among 24 city and county health centers in the 2023 Gyeongbuk Province Pharmaceutical Management Project evaluation.

The pharmaceutical management project evaluation hosted by Gyeongbuk Province was conducted based on a total of 7 categories and 10 indicators, and Cheongsong-gun received excellent scores in all categories.
In particular, from October 18 to 26, 2023, Cheongsong-gun conducted drug prevention education for foreign seasonal workers within the county, and was the only health center among all cities and counties to directly conduct in-house education, earning high marks for this effort.
Additionally, drug prevention education and awareness surveys were conducted for middle school students in the area. Other efforts included promoting the proper disposal of expired pharmaceuticals and operating a mobile narcotics disposal team, demonstrating significant dedication to preventing drug and substance abuse.
Furthermore, to ensure safe distribution management of medical products and narcotics safety management, inspections were regularly conducted at hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies. Over the year, a total of eight businesses were administratively sanctioned (2 suspensions, 3 fines, 2 warnings, 1 closure) for violations of related laws, and unlicensed medical practitioners were also detected and reported, reflecting proactive enforcement activities.
Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “We plan to continue thorough guidance and inspections of pharmaceutical businesses to provide medical and pharmaceutical management that residents can trust and rely on. We will also persistently carry out drug and substance abuse prevention projects to lead the enhancement of Cheongsong-gun’s image as a clean area free of narcotics.”
