Jeongeup-si Selected as an 'Excellent Local Government' in the National Childcare Policy Evaluation

Jeongeup City in Jeollabuk-do has solidified its image as a "child-friendly city" by being selected as an excellent local government in childcare policy.

On the 14th, the city announced that it was chosen as an "Excellent Local Government in Childcare Policy" in the "National Childcare Policy Evaluation" conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare targeting metropolitan and basic local governments nationwide.

It is the only recipient among the 14 cities and counties in Jeollabuk-do.

The childcare policy evaluation assesses six categories, including contributions to improving childcare teachers' working conditions.

The city received favorable evaluations in areas related to vulnerable childcare, such as efforts to prevent safety accidents in daycare centers and the activation of safety education for childcare staff.

In particular, this year, to strengthen support for home childcare, the city provided childcare allowances to children under 59 months old, and through city-funded projects such as the "Private and Home Daycare Function Enhancement Project" and "Daycare Center Disinfection Cost Support," it promoted safe and high-quality childcare policies, the city explained.

Mayor Lee Hak-su stated, "We will continue to take the lead in creating a unique childcare environment in Jeongeup City and a child-friendly city that is good for raising children."

Meanwhile, to reduce the burden on parents sending their children to daycare centers and to assist in their operation, the city plans to launch a new project next year called the "0-2 Years Necessary Expenses Support Project."
