According to Mokpo Maritime Police on the 14th, Chief Kim Hae-cheol used a patrol vessel on the 13th to visit vulnerable waters around Sinan-gun, including the heavily trafficked passenger ship routes from Haido to Bigeumdo, to inspect the overall safety management status of coastal accident risk zones and safety facilities.
In particular, he visited the newly completed Bigeum Branch Office building, which held its completion ceremony on the 29th of last month, to check the management status of life-saving equipment for the winter season, urged the maintenance of immediate response readiness for various situations, encouraged the efforts of staff working in island areas, and listened to their difficulties and suggestions.
Mokpo Maritime Police currently operates 8 vessels on 3 local routes, 9 vessels on 8 ferry routes, and 44 vessels on 27 passenger ship routes within its jurisdiction.
