As various business processes are being automated with the help of artificial intelligence (AI), a company is gaining attention for revolutionizing its business processes in the architectural design field through AI application.
Domestic startup ToFit is establishing a new paradigm by introducing AI technology in the architectural design sector. This is expected to dramatically enhance both the efficiency and qualitative aspects of architectural design work.
ToFit was recognized for this innovation by winning the Grand Prize at the 2023 ICT-based Young Entrepreneurs Coaching Program hosted by the Seoul Startup Center Gwanak. This program targets young entrepreneurs in the ICT-based business sector, aiming to strengthen entrepreneurial capabilities, expand the Gwanak S Valley startup infrastructure, and secure practical skills in preparation for future government project support and investment.
The key element of ToFit’s architectural design innovation is automated design using software. Engineers upload the necessary drawings for optimal design and set layout conditions, then AI technology analyzes these inputs to automatically generate the optimal design drawings.
This software utilization offers various advantages. First, engineers can focus on strategic and creative tasks instead of calculations or repetitive work. It also improves speed and accuracy, enhancing not only the overall project progress but also quality.
Based on actual field data, the software operation results showed that in the case of fire hydrant box design, the average quantity (average of 7 sites) was reduced by 29%. In monetary terms, this achieved a cost saving of approximately 110 million KRW. Additionally, in the case of underground parking compartment design, the quantity increased by 4%, raising the value by about 340 million KRW and enhancing the attractiveness of design orders.
A company representative stated, “In the existing design method, tasks that require many people can be completed faster by a small number of design technicians using ToFit,” adding, “ToFit aims to have a positive impact on the industrial ecosystem through technological innovation. Collaboration with ToFit will be a strong foundation for creating future value through enhanced competitiveness.”
