The Yongin High School School Vehicle Boarding and Alighting Zone is a facility created on the 5th, reflecting suggestions from a meeting with parents held by Mayor Lee. This facility was installed near the school at Yeokbuk Small Park, measuring 82 meters in length. While constructing the facility, the city also installed a new crosswalk, repaved the road, repainted road markings, and improved traffic safety signs. Additionally, floor traffic lights were installed to ensure pedestrian safety at night.
Mayor Lee said, "I feel rewarded to hear that the School Vehicle Boarding and Alighting Zone has greatly contributed to student safety," and added, "We will continue to pay attention and provide support to create a safer and better educational environment next year."
Earlier, in July, before a humanities special lecture for Yongin High School students, Mayor Lee met with school officials and parents to discuss commuting safety measures. At that meeting, parents requested countermeasures, explaining that the area in front of the school gate is densely populated with residential houses, causing a concentration of commuting and work vehicles, which increases the risk of accidents. Mayor Lee promised to prepare solutions to the problem and instructed city staff to install the 'School Vehicle Boarding and Alighting Zone.'
Kim Hoe-man, principal of Yongin High School, expressed gratitude to Mayor Lee and Yongin city officials, saying, "The effect of the School Vehicle Boarding and Alighting Zone appeared immediately, and parents are highly satisfied."
