DevSisters' 'Cookie Run' Wins Presidential Award in Character Category at Korea Content Awards

DevSisters announced on the 14th that its flagship IP (intellectual property), Cookie Run, has won the Presidential Award in the Character category at the '2023 Korea Content Awards.'

This is DevSisters' second award since co-CEOs Lee Ji-hoon and Kim Jong-heun received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Commendation in the Overseas Expansion Merit category in 2021.

Now in its 15th year, the Korea Content Awards is the only domestic ceremony that encompasses all sectors of the content industry, including characters, games, broadcasting and video, comics, and animation. On the 13th, an event was held at the National Museum of Korea to honor outstanding works and contributors who have advanced the Korean content industry over the past year.

Cookie Run was recognized for steadily expanding its base in various fields over more than a decade, earning the Presidential Award, which corresponds to the grand prize in the Character category.

Starting in 2013 with 'Cookie Run for Kakao,' Cookie Run has grown its influence based on mobile games such as the running action genre 'Cookie Run: OvenBreak' and the RPG 'Cookie Run: Kingdom.' At the same time, it has expanded its business scope to include TCG (trading card games), VR (virtual reality) games, merchandise, publishing, licensing, and partnerships.

Based on a solid game fandom and widespread public recognition, the integrated global cumulative sales of the Cookie Run IP have surpassed 1 trillion won, with the Cookie Run game franchise serving 243 countries and recording over 200 million cumulative users.
