"Impact of High Inflation"... NS Home Shopping Sees Increase in Orders for 'Motnani Food' This Year

Cooksel Frying Pan Takes 1st Place
7th, 11th, and 14th Places Occupied by Inferior Food Products

NS Home Shopping's survey of order volumes from January 1 to December 8 this year revealed a clear consumer trend of seeking affordable products in the era of high inflation, such as 'Motnani food' (imperfect food).


According to NS Home Shopping on the 14th, among food products based on this year's order volumes, budget-friendly fresh foods known as 'Motnani' had high order volumes, and overall, cooking utensils had the highest order volumes. This is analyzed as a psychological tendency to purchase food at a lower price or to reduce expenses by cooking at home in the era of high inflation.

The top overall order volume was for the 'Cooksel Frying Pan,' which increased by 62% compared to the same period last year. The ‘AM Dajigi’ ranked 16th, increasing by 45% compared to the same period last year. The popularity of Motnani food also continued. Three Motnani food products entered the top 15: 7th place ‘Motnani Baekmyeongran,’ 11th place ‘Yeolmaenamu Motnani Apple,’ and 14th place ‘Areumari Motnani Apple.’


An NS Home Shopping official said, "Looking at NS Home Shopping's sales performance throughout the year, we can clearly see the restrained consumer sentiment entering the era of high inflation," adding, "We expect this trend to continue into next year and plan to prepare for next year with a product strategy focused on affordable prices."
