Recognition of Efforts to Practice ESG Management

LS Electric's Busan plant announced on the 14th that it received the Grand Prize (Minister of Environment Award) at this year's Excellent Green Company Awards selected by the Ministry of Environment.

The Excellent Green Company certification is a system in which the Ministry of Environment certifies companies and institutions that have made significant contributions to environmental improvement and eco-friendly activities through a rigorous certification review every three years. This evaluation was conducted by a committee composed of experts from various fields, including industry, related professionals, the Ministry of Environment, and technical institutes, who selected the award-winning companies through a strict three-stage review process.

LS Electric's Busan plant received the Grand Prize in this evaluation by earning high scores in areas such as ▲carbon emission zeroing ▲active participation in environmental policies ▲establishment of environmental management systems ▲development of eco-friendly products ▲management of environmental pollutants ▲and ESG management.

In particular, it received high evaluations in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and managing environmental pollutants. Through the development of high-efficiency power transformers and improvements to the boiler facility condensate recovery system, it is expected to significantly contribute to carbon emission zeroing by reducing energy consumption and cutting greenhouse gases.

Additionally, it was recognized for managing air pollutant emission concentrations at levels below 25% of the legally permitted emission standards and for continuously reducing wastewater discharge through process improvements.

Kim Dong-hyun, CEO of LS Electric (Vice President in charge of ESG), said, "We are pleased that the results of our eco-friendly management activities based on ESG philosophy have once again been recognized externally through this award. We will continue our efforts to flexibly respond to the global market environment, including the energy paradigm shift, and to become a sustainable company, emerging as a national representative ESG company."
