CU "Huchune, Collaborates with Odeng Sikdang to Launch New Product"

CU announced on the 14th that it will launch seven products in collaboration with the famous frozen Samgyeopsal restaurant ‘Huchune’ and the original Budae Jjigae restaurant ‘Oden Sikdang.’

These RMR (Restaurant Meal Replacement) products, created in collaboration with renowned restaurants, aim to bring dishes from popular eateries concentrated in the metropolitan area to CU stores nationwide, allowing anyone to enjoy famous restaurant meals conveniently at their local convenience store.


Huchune is a frozen Samgyeopsal brand operated by the famous meat restaurant Kkudang in Sinsa-dong. The five products launched in collaboration with CU feature Huchune’s signature dishes, using frozen Samgyeopsal and webfoot octopus as the main ingredients.


‘Spicy Webfoot Octopus Frozen Samgyeopsal Rice Bowl’ is a ready-to-eat meal combining pepper-seasoned savory frozen Samgyeopsal with spicy webfoot octopus and rice for mixing. Two types of kimbap are also available, allowing customers to choose between frozen Samgyeopsal and spicy webfoot octopus according to their preference. The Spicy Samgyeopsal Kimbap is a rolled seaweed rice roll filled with frozen Samgyeopsal mixed with a special spicy sauce. The Spicy Webfoot Octopus Samgyeopsal Triangle Kimbap offers the umami flavors of fresh Samgyeopsal and webfoot octopus simultaneously. Additionally, a refrigerated side dish product ‘Smoked Samgyeopsal’ featuring special spicy sauce and smoked Samgyeopsal is available, as well as a small-packaged frozen meat product ‘Frozen Samgyeopsal’ that can be cooked using an air fryer or frying pan to enjoy Huchune’s representative menu.


Oden Sikdang is the original Budae Jjigae restaurant in Uijeongbu with over 60 years of history. The products launching on the 20th include one type each of ramen and rice bowl, developed with the participation of Oden Sikdang’s CEO Kim Min-woo over six months to faithfully reproduce the authentic taste of the famous restaurant. The ‘Budae Jjigae Ramen’ features rich toppings and a special soup that perfectly captures Oden Sikdang’s distinctive deep broth flavor. The ‘Budae Jjigae Rice Bowl’ is designed with the concept of mixing the slightly soupy Budae Jjigae broth with rice and can be conveniently enjoyed after 2 minutes and 30 seconds of microwave heating.
