Jinju-si to Recruit Participants for Next Year's Senior Job and Social Activity Support Program

262 Billion KRW Invested to Recruit 6,544 People
Providing Various Senior Job Opportunities

Jinju City in Gyeongnam is recruiting participants for the '2024 Senior Job and Social Activity Support Project' until the 26th.


To expand job opportunities for seniors, the city will invest 26.2 billion KRW in the 2024 budget, a 25% increase from 20.9 billion KRW this year. The number of recruits for 2024 is 6,544, an increase of 835 compared to 2023, which corresponds to 9.8% of the senior population. Additionally, next year, the number of senior job implementing agencies will increase by one, providing various jobs through a total of five agencies.

The recruitment target is seniors aged 65 or older residing in Jinju who receive the basic pension, while some social service types and market-type projects allow participation from those aged 60 or older. However, participation is restricted for basic livelihood security recipients receiving livelihood benefits, workplace health insurance subscribers, long-term care insurance recipients, and participants in government agency job projects.


Seniors wishing to participate in the project can inquire or apply at the local eup/myeon office or dong administrative welfare center in their area of residence, or at senior job implementing agencies, depending on the project type. A city official stated, “We will do our best to support seniors' continuous social participation activities through the senior job project so that they can enjoy a healthy and vibrant old age.”
