On the same day, Yoon told reporters that he responded this way when asked about the party's recovery plan following Kim's resignation.
Yoon said, "Tomorrow morning at 8 o'clock, we will hold a joint meeting of senior lawmakers with three or more terms," adding, "We will gather opinions from senior lawmakers and also hold the Supreme Council meeting normally to announce a consolidated position based on the meeting results."
Kim, who had been in hiding for two days, announced his resignation through a Facebook post in the afternoon, stating, "The responsibility for all the situations our party is currently facing lies with me as the party leader, and any criticism that follows is entirely mine." Kim emphasized, "The party must no longer be divided over my position."
