Total of 7.2 million steps recorded as of the 13th
Cheongho Nice awards 2nd and 3rd prizes for goal achievement
"Warm Steps, Happy Sharing"
Last month, a notice with this title was posted on the internal bulletin board of Cheongho Nice. It announced an "Employee Walking Challenge" from November 22 to December 31 until 6 p.m. The initial goal was set at a cumulative 5 million steps. The notice explained, "If the employees' steps accumulate to 5 million, the Cheongho Nice Small Love Practice Movement Headquarters will present Cheongho House No. 2 and No. 3 to children living in difficult housing conditions. Please walk energetically to keep both your body and heart warm during the cold winter!" Cheongho House is one of Cheongho Nice's housing environment improvement campaigns, with the first house being a family affected by flood damage during last summer's monsoon season.
However, before the challenge period ended, on the 13th, a total of 7.2 million steps were recorded. The number of participating employees was 90. Although Cheongho Nice achieved the goal, they plan to accumulate more steps until the 31st.
Participation involves downloading a step-counting application on a mobile phone and pressing the "Start" button on the challenge page. Walking is practiced, and pressing the "Complete" button before the challenge ends validates the record.
The walking challenge was planned to promote ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management practices and improve employee health. To spread the culture of sharing within the company and encourage participation, an event was prepared for employees participating in the walking challenge. Employees who donate 300,000 steps during the challenge will receive a coupon worth 5,000 KRW usable in retail stores. Those who donate 10,000 steps will be entered into a draw to receive steamed buns to warm them during the cold winter. Teams of three or more employees who walk together, take donation photos, and upload them to the certification card will have five teams selected to receive chicken coupons.
An employee of Cheongho Nice who participated in the walking challenge said, "Through this challenge, I was able to practice walking in daily life and take care of my health, and I felt rewarded to participate in sharing activities by donating steps." They added, "Personally, I was happy to commute on foot to accumulate steps and also lose weight."
Cheongho Nice's sharing through walking is already the second this year. On March 22, they also participated in the "Let's All Pick Up Trash Around the Han River" plogging event held at Banpo Hangang Park in Seoul, organized by the Seoul Volunteer Center and the Han River Project Headquarters.
