Bride Walking Down Virgin Road Exposed
Company Says "Industry Struggling Due to Low Birthrate"
Wedding Dress Refund Request Also Rejected
On the wedding day that should have been the happiest, an accident occurred where the bride's wedding dress was torn, exposing her body. When the bride protested, the wedding dress company pleaded for leniency, saying, "Due to low birth rates, the wedding industry is struggling."
According to a report by JTBC's 'Sageon Banjang' on the 12th, a story spread on social media about the back of the bride's wedding dress tearing while she was walking down the virgin road at a wedding on the 2nd, causing controversy. Bride A reportedly walked holding her father's hand, receiving congratulations from guests, unaware of the incident.
The one who noticed this was A's friend. The tear was visible enough from the guest seats to reveal part of her legs and body. When the friend informed others, a helper who was dressing the bride hurriedly tried to fix the situation.

After the wedding, A contacted the wedding dress company, but the company said, "We will check and get back to you," and then did not follow up. When A went directly to the company, they belatedly revealed the cause of the accident.
The company explained, "Other parts of the dress are secured with straps, but the torn part was fixed with pins," adding, "It seems that part came undone." They further stated, "Nowadays, dresses are often secured with pins."
There were also remarks shifting responsibility to the helper. A company representative said, "The helper is not our employee. We feel unfairly treated and distressed," but also pleaded for leniency, saying, "Due to the current low birth rate, the economy is tough. The wedding industry is struggling."
The company also rejected A's request for compensation for the wedding dress cost. The company reportedly responded, "The wedding dress is included in the package, so we cannot disclose the amount."
Netizens who heard the story reacted with comments such as, "It's a once-in-a-lifetime wedding, so it must be upsetting," "What kind of embarrassment is that in front of relatives?" and "She should receive not only a refund but also compensation for mental damages."
