Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 13th that the Eunpyeong-gu Youth Counseling and Welfare Center was selected as the Best Institution in the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family's 'Comprehensive Evaluation of Youth Counseling and Welfare Centers' and received the Minister's Award.

The 'Comprehensive Evaluation of Youth Counseling and Welfare Centers' is a system that analyzes and evaluates the appropriateness and connectivity of services provided by youth counseling and welfare centers nationwide every three years. It is organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and conducted by the Korea Youth Counseling and Welfare Institute.

The Eunpyeong-gu Youth Counseling and Welfare Center received high praise for its active role in identifying and supporting at-risk youth within the local community, helping them grow into healthy young individuals. Only the top 6% among approximately 240 centers nationwide are selected as Best Institutions.

This evaluation was conducted targeting about 240 centers nationwide. It assessed the overall effective operation of the centers over the past three years from 2020 to 2022. The main evaluation criteria included youth safety network operation, establishment of support foundations for at-risk youth, center business infrastructure, center operational performance, and case studies of center operations.

The Eunpyeong-gu Youth Counseling and Welfare Center is a non-profit organization established by Eunpyeong-gu under the Youth Welfare Support Act in 2020. It operates the youth counseling project, including the youth hotline 1388, psychological testing, counseling, and education, as well as the community youth integrated support system, which includes emergency rescue, protection, linkage, and consultation.
