Kim Byung-min "I think Kim Ki-hyun can also make a decision like Jang Je-won"... Resignation Pressure

People Power Party Supreme Council Member YTN Radio Interview
"This Week Is Practically the Last Golden Time"

Kim Byung-min, Supreme Council Member of the People Power Party, mentioned the announcement of Jang Je-won, a key member of the pro-Yoon (pro-Yoon Suk-yeol) faction and People Power Party lawmaker, not running in next year's general election, saying, "I thought Representative Kim Ki-hyun might make a similar decision."

On the 12th, Kim appeared on YTN Radio's 'News King Park Ji-hoon' and called for a decision from Representative Kim, saying, "This week is practically the last golden time."

He said, "In this process where the election officially starts today, when I meet one by one with many people in the metropolitan area who are willing to run under the People Power Party banner despite difficulties, there is a lot of resentment and concern toward the leadership, questioning whether the election can be fought like this," adding, "It is very difficult to turn the tide all at once later without addressing the problem of declining momentum and atmosphere from the early stages of the election."

He continued, "I think this week, the first week of the election, is the golden time and the most important moment to change the party's issues that have been raised so far all at once," and added, "I also think Representative Kim Ki-hyun must be contemplating such matters."

Regarding Jang Je-won's announcement not to run in next year's general election, he said, "There seemed to be public opinion that Jang Je-won's decision went against the sacrifice mentioned by Chairman In Yo-han due to a local event known to involve 90 buses," and added, "It appears that Jang Je-won did not agree with the change of his constituency from Busan to Seoul, which was the first issue."

He went on, "Rather than being a sacrifice by senior or key figures who created the regime, it seems that the agreement on being pushed to become targets of innovation and reform was difficult," and said, "As a result, I think he needed some time to reflect and make a decision for the success of the Yoon Suk-yeol government through this general election, and judging from the post he made yesterday, it seems he expressed such heartfelt feelings."

Supreme Council Member Kim predicted that the announcements of not running or running in difficult constituencies by key party figures could continue, starting with Representative Jang. He said, "Minister Won Hee-ryong expressed his willingness to go anywhere, including Incheon Gyeyang-eul, for the success of the regime and for the country and the party," adding, "I think the atmosphere where everyone sacrifices themselves and tries together in difficult regions to save the party and the country could ignite like wildfire, and the foundation for this was laid last night and this morning."
