All-In on Spreading Safety Culture and Preventing Industrial Accidents

Leaders in industrial safety are building a network to cultivate a healthy workplace environment in the Republic of Korea.

The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Chairman An Jong-ju) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Federation of Health and Safety Organizations at 11 a.m. on the 11th to promote a culture of safety in the workplace and prevent industrial accidents, committing to lead the creation of safe and healthy workplaces.

The agreement includes ▲ financial support cooperation for preventing accidents and diseases in small-scale workplaces ▲ development and distribution of safety and health content for industrial accident prevention ▲ hosting safety and health education and forums ▲ activities to spread workplace safety culture.

Additionally, they plan to promote various safety and health activities such as hosting safety and health fairs, joint campaigns, and national competitions to enhance the capabilities of safety and health experts.

Both organizations also agreed to actively cooperate to improve the safety and health of employers and workers, as well as to raise public safety awareness.

Chairman An Jong-ju of the agency stated, “This agreement will make workplaces in the Republic of Korea significantly safer,” adding, “The agency will continue to strive to spread a culture of safety and prevent industrial accidents.”

The Korea Federation of Health and Safety Organizations is an organization that works to improve the rights of professionals and protect the health and lives of the public through the solidarity and cooperation of health and safety-related groups. It has 800,000 members across 72 organizations, including the Korea Safety Technology Association and the Korean Society of Construction Health.
