Joint Labor-Management Safety Culture Initiative Receives Positive Feedback
HD Hyundai Infracore received the Presidential Citation at the '2023 Safety Culture Awards' ceremony held on the 11th at the Government Sejong Convention Center.
The Safety Culture Awards have been organized annually since 2005 by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. The purpose is to recognize individuals and outstanding organizations that have contributed to spreading safety culture by discovering excellent safety culture activities promoted in the public and private sectors.
Since July, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety conducted a contest targeting local governments, public institutions, private organizations, and individuals, selecting a total of 38 awardees this year, including organizations, companies, and individuals. HD Hyundai Infracore received the Presidential Citation. It was highly evaluated for the case where labor and management jointly promoted an independent safety culture project.
HD Hyundai Infracore formed the first labor-management joint safety culture dedicated organization in Korea in 2021. It also executes an average annual safety investment of 15 billion KRW. Various motivational activities such as safety culture slogans, video contests, and Safety Culture Heroes awards are also conducted to encourage voluntary awareness changes among employees.
Cho Young-chul, CEO of HD Hyundai Infracore, said in his acceptance speech, "Safety for all is a core value that can never be compromised," and added, "We will continue to build a workplace where executives and employees can work healthily and safely, becoming a company that leads safety culture."
