Maeil Dairies announced on the 11th that its employees participated as daily delivery volunteers in the 'Milk Delivery for the Elderly's Well-being' program, which checks on the health and prevents solitary deaths of elderly people living alone through daily milk deliveries.

Maeil Dairies employees personally delivered the company's lactose-free milk product, 'Easily Digestible Milk,' along with gifts to elderly residents living in Jung-gu, Seoul.

This event is part of Maeil Dairies' annual sharing campaign, 'Easily Digestible Milk, 1% Promise.' The milk delivery program to check on the elderly began in 2003 when Oksoo Central Church started delivering milk to 100 low-income elderly living alone. In 2015, under the leadership of Pastor Hoyong Han, a nonprofit corporation was established, expanding the public welfare project through corporate and individual sponsorships. Maeil Dairies has participated as a sponsor since 2016, donating 1% of the sales of 'Easily Digestible Milk' every year. Anyone who purchases the Easily Digestible Milk product automatically contributes to the donation.

As of last month, 4,124 households nationwide are receiving milk welfare support. To prevent solitary deaths, if two or more milk cartons are piled up in front of a house, the delivery person contacts the nearby public office to request a welfare check on the elderly resident.

A Maeil Dairies representative stated, "We plan to continue activities to promote the milk welfare campaign so that elderly people living alone in our society are not neglected."
