Urban Aesthetics Enhanced with Bus Stop Platforms and Guide Signs Installation

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that public design has been applied to 11 distribution boxes on Doksan-ro that detract from the urban landscape.

The area around Doksan-ro is undergoing an underground utility project to remove utility poles, communication poles, and overhead wires. Currently, the first phase of the project, covering the section from Siheung 1-dong Post Office to the Seoul Southern Women's Development Center intersection, has been completed.

While carrying out the underground utility project, Geumcheon-gu decorated the distribution boxes on the sidewalks with promotional images of "The Four Seasons of Geumcheon" and "Hoamsan Historical and Cultural Road," and painted their exteriors in clean colors to harmonize with the surrounding scenery.

Additionally, LED lighting has been installed to enhance functionality such as preventing safety accidents during nighttime walking. The lighting on the distribution boxes operates on the same schedule as the streetlights.

Furthermore, two bus stops have been equipped with boarding platforms, and two free shuttle bus stops for the disabled and elderly have been newly installed with guide signs, improving the urban landscape of Doksan-ro.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "We are promoting a public design improvement project in line with the Doksan-ro underground utility project," and added, "We will continue to create an environment where residents can walk safely and comfortably through public design."
