Geumcheon Cultural Foundation's New CEO Seoyoungcheol Appointed

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced on the 8th that Seo Young-cheol, former Secretary General of the Korea Cultural and Arts Centers Association, has been appointed as the 4th CEO of the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation.


The term of office is two years, until December 7, 2025.


Newly appointed CEO Seo Young-cheol is a cultural administration expert who has accumulated extensive experience in domestic and international cultural and artistic fields during his 28 years of public service. While working at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, he served in the Cultural Exchange Division, Performing Arts Division, and the Korean Cultural Center in France. He later served as Secretary General of the Korea Cultural and Arts Centers Association, giving him a deep understanding of regional cultural foundations.


CEO Seo Young-cheol expressed his ambition, saying, “I will make great efforts to ensure that the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation becomes the center of local culture and arts where residents and local artists come together.”


At the appointment ceremony, Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, “In an era where the competitiveness of a city lies in being able to experience high-quality culture and arts close to home, the role of the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation is becoming increasingly important,” and added, “I hope that the cultural welfare of residents will be enhanced based on the new CEO’s diverse cultural and artistic experience.”
