Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends Community Welfare Council Policy Proposal Meeting 'Welfare No.1, How About This? Empathy Talk'

On the 8th at 4 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, Seoul, attended the policy proposal meeting of the Community Social Security Council titled 'Welfare No.1, How About This? Empathy Talk' held at the Nowon-gu Office auditorium in Seoul.


The Community Social Security Council is a public-private cooperative organization aimed at promoting community welfare. It consists of representatives and working councils, as well as six working subcommittees: ▲Women ▲Persons with Disabilities ▲Elderly ▲Children and Youth ▲Housing ▲Case Management. A total of about 170 members, including public officials, welfare institution and facility workers, and experts in relevant fields, serve as committee members. Additionally, the Dong Resident Welfare Council operates separately, with about 500 members working to identify welfare blind spots throughout neighborhoods and connect local resources.


The event was attended by approximately 120 people, including Mayor Oh Seung-rok, members of the National Assembly, city councilors, and Community Social Security Council members. The program proceeded in the order of greetings, status and progress reports, policy proposals from the six working subcommittees, Mayor Oh’s general remarks, themed empathy talks, and a review session.


Mayor Oh Seung-rok stated, “The policies proposed by the Community Social Security Council will serve as the foundation for realizing Nowon as a welfare city. We will do our best to create a Nowon where no one is left behind and everyone is happy in Welfare No.1 Nowon.”
