IoT-Enabled Clean Oxygen Supply, 'Smart Chamber Device Commercialization' Gains Attention

Adsorption of Oxygen in Air, Supply of Over 90% High-Purity Clean Oxygen

Professor Kim Giju of Dongmyeong University - Giwon Solutec, Industry-Academia Joint Technology Development

"By detecting indoor fine dust and other pollutants, measuring oxygen concentration, and controlling them in real time, users can quantitatively recognize the degree of environmental pollution, enhancing customer satisfaction with oxygen efficacy and enabling health improvement for the general public."

The system automatically senses the operating status and the state of environmental pollutants such as fine dust in real time using automated sensors, displays this information on a touchscreen attached to the device, and manages it remotely through communication connection and data transmission. By implementing smart functions, important features such as system usage time, operating time, oxygen concentration, and flow rate in typical oxygen rooms, classrooms, or offices are monitored and controlled via the Internet of Things (IoT). The 'Clean Oxygen Supply System' has recently been developed and is now undergoing its first commercialization.

The research team led by Professor Kim Kiju of the Department of Electric Vehicles at Dongmyung University (President Jeon Hohwan) announced that existing air purification systems improve air quality by circulating indoor air and filtering pollutants and fine dust, but cause problems such as increased fatigue, decreased immunity, and headaches due to oxygen deficiency in indoor spaces. To resolve these issues, they recently succeeded in developing a 'Smart Clean Oxygen Supply Controller and System' that supplies externally generated oxygen to the space to compensate for the consumed oxygen deficiency.

This smart oxygen chamber not only dramatically improves indoor air quality but also enhances oxygen concentration by equipping an oxygen generator. By integrating green smart control technology, it measures environmental pollutants and enables remote management of the system's operating status.

With the development of an air-cleaning oxygen chamber system that includes fine dust removal functionality, it supplies the deficient oxygen, improving the air quality of enclosed indoor spaces, thereby contributing to a healthy life through increased disease immunity and fatigue recovery.

This device was jointly developed through an industry-academia collaborative research and development project by Professor Kim Kiju's team and Giwon Soltem (CEO Moon Dongcheol).

Professor Kim emphasized, "This device is a smart oxygen chamber equipped with IoT-based air purification functions to promote the health of ordinary citizens exposed to fine dust and environmental pollutants. With an integrated control device, it supplies optimal clean oxygen inside the oxygen chamber and functions as a health diagnostic device that measures body oxygen saturation."

Professor Kim also stated that they are currently pursuing commercialization in partnership with the specialized company Giwon Soltec.
