2024 Organizational Restructuring and Executive Personnel Changes Implemented
SK Square announced on the 7th that it has carried out an organizational restructuring and executive appointments for 2024.
The direction of SK Square's organizational restructuring focuses on strengthening the execution capability of value-up and rebalancing of the existing portfolio. Additionally, it aims to enhance investment expertise in key areas such as semiconductors and reorganize functions to proactively respond to rapid internal and external environmental changes.
To this end, the existing investment organization (CIO·Chief Investment Officer) will be reorganized into two. A 'dual CIO' system will be established, consisting of 'CIO Growth,' responsible for investments in new growth areas centered on semiconductors, and 'CIO Transformation,' which reorganizes the existing portfolio and increases asset value. This aims to advance specialized capabilities for each CIO and create mutual synergy.
Along with this, SK Square will place a 'Portfolio Strategy' organization under the Investment Support Center to strengthen the functions of performance and risk management by portfolio. By significantly enhancing investment management expertise amid the global complex crisis, the company plans to continuously increase corporate value.
A flexible project-based organizational operation system will also be introduced. Instead of the existing standardized organization and asset units, a project-based work execution method will be fully adopted to maximize performance creation.
Based on 'performance-oriented' principles, SK Square appointed Song Jae-seung, in his mid-40s, as CIO of the investment organization. Born in 1979, Song Jae-seung joined SK in 2018 after working at major investment banks (IB) such as Goldman Sachs. He is an investment expert who successfully completed the Wallenberg and SK Shieldus deals this year and is expected to bring new vitality to the investment organization. Meanwhile, SK Square newly appointed a total of six executives in this personnel reshuffle.
