Hyundai Construction Establishes 'H Silent Solution Package' to Reduce Interfloor Noise

Expansion of Target Complexes After First On-Site Application Next Year

Hyundai Construction announced on the 7th that it has established the ‘H Silent Solution Package,’ which combines four types of inter-floor noise reduction systems.

The H Silent Solution Package consists of ▲H Silent Home ▲H Silent Frame ▲H Silent High-Tech ▲H Silent Care.

First, H Silent Home is a flooring system that last year became the first in Korea to receive a grade 1 certification for both lightweight and heavyweight impact sound performance ratings. It effectively blocks vibration energy and noise generated when impact is applied to the floor using high-density specialized mortar and high-performance cushioning materials made from special materials. The plan is to apply it to actual sites for the first time next year and then expand to target complexes.

H Silent Frame is a technology that improves noise caused by acoustic characteristics through a floor plan design considering frequency bands, and reduces vibration by efficiently arranging and reinforcing noise reduction components for inter-floor noise on the living room slab. The sleeve-embedded reinforcement method effectively reduces vibration without interference with ceiling facilities or changes in height.

When H Silent Frame and H Silent Home are applied together, the effect is maximized, reducing inter-floor noise by more than 3 dB, which is equivalent to one grade level compared to existing floor plans. The technology development and experimental verification have been completed, and site application is being promoted in conjunction with architectural design.

H Silent High-Tech, which significantly reduces vibration through a very low natural frequency, is a solution that places mechanical elements on the ceiling, walls, and floor respectively to reduce the radiation of vibration and noise generated during walking.

H Silent Care, which informs residents about inter-floor noise, is currently in the development stage and preparing for commercialization. Advanced sensors attached to the lower floor living room structure quickly detect vibrations and convert them into data, and if the inter-floor noise exceeds the standard, notifications are sent via the wall pad, H Bell, mobile app, and other means.

A Hyundai Construction official said, “We have fully launched the ‘H Silent Lab’ this year, which enables research, technology development, and demonstration of inter-floor noise all at once, and are continuing multifaceted research and development,” adding, “Through continuous technology development and verification followed by actual application, we will provide unique value exclusive to Hyundai Construction’s apartment complexes.”
