On the 6th at 3 p.m., Yoon Jae-nam, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, conducted a pre-arrest detention hearing for A, who is accused of murder, and issued an arrest warrant, citing "risk of flight."
A is accused of killing his wife B by striking her with a blunt weapon around 7:50 p.m. on the 3rd at a residential-commercial complex apartment in Jongno-gu, Seoul. It is understood that A himself reported to the fire department immediately after the incident, stating that his wife had suffered a head injury. B received emergency treatment from the responding firefighters and was transported to a nearby hospital but ultimately died.
The police urgently arrested A at his home around 9:30 p.m. on the same day. The couple had been experiencing domestic conflicts due to financial issues and personality differences, and it is understood that they argued about related matters on the day of the incident as well.
Earlier, the police requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service on the body and received a preliminary verbal opinion stating that "cervical compression asphyxia and hypovolemic shock are concurrent." Accordingly, there is a possibility that A strangled the victim's neck.
