Choi Yoon-jung (34), the eldest daughter of Choi Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, is expected to be promoted to a new executive position in the upcoming regular personnel reshuffle on the 7th.
Choi is expected to be appointed as an executive responsible for the organization related to business development. She is recognized for her work capabilities in new investments and business development, having successfully completed the acquisition of SK Life Science Labs.
Choi joined SK Biopharm in 2017 as a senior manager (assistant manager level) in the Strategy Team of the Management Strategy Office.
Before joining SK Biopharm, she attended Beijing International High School in China, majored in Biology at the University of Chicago in the United States, and worked as a researcher at the University of Chicago Brain Science Institute and as a consultant at Bain & Company.
She took a leave of absence in 2019 to pursue a master's degree in Bioinformatics at Stanford University in the United States, returned to work in July 2021, and was promoted to head of the Strategic Investment Team in the Global Investment Division last January.
Meanwhile, Choi’s second daughter, Min-jung (32), joined SK Hynix as an assistant manager in 2019 and worked in the strategy department of the U.S. branch before taking a leave of absence early last year. Since then, she has served as an unpaid advisor at the remote medical startup "Dawn" in San Francisco, U.S., and volunteered in education at the local NGO "SMART."
The eldest son, In-geun (28), is receiving management training at PassKey, SK E&S’s North American energy solutions business corporation.
