The KOSPI slightly rose due to net buying by institutional investors.
On the 6th, the KOSPI closed at 2,495.38, up 1.10 points (0.04%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, institutions were net buyers with 240.9 billion KRW. Conversely, individuals and foreigners were net sellers with 94.2 billion KRW and 146.5 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, construction, machinery, telecommunications, and insurance rose more than 1%. Meanwhile, precision medical instruments, pharmaceuticals, and steel & metals fell more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 71,700 KRW, up 500 KRW (0.70%) from the previous trading day. Hyundai Motor, NAVER, and Kia saw slight increases. On the other hand, Samsung SDI dropped 2.36%, and LG Energy Solution, Samsung Biologics, POSCO Future M, and Celltrion fell more than 1%.
On the day, the KOSPI market saw 502 stocks rise, including 4 stocks hitting the upper price limit such as Daesang Holdings. Meanwhile, 62 stocks remained unchanged, and 373 stocks declined.
The KOSDAQ closed at 819.54, up 6.16 points (0.76%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners and institutions were net buyers with 17 billion KRW and 23.6 billion KRW, respectively. Conversely, individuals were net sellers with 31.4 billion KRW.
By sector, the internet sector rose 5.80%, and digital content jumped 3.37%. Software and telecommunications equipment also rose more than 2%. Additionally, semiconductors, computer services, broadcasting services, chemicals, textiles & apparel, and information devices rose more than 1%. Meanwhile, finance fell 1.54%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 301,000 KRW, down 7,500 KRW (2.43%). L&F fell 3.13%, and EcoPro and POSCO DX dropped more than 2%. Celltrion Healthcare, Alteogen, and Celltrion Pharm also fell more than 1%. On the other hand, HPSP rose 6.26%, while JYP Ent. and L&F increased 3.05% and 2.28%, respectively.
On the day, the KOSDAQ saw 1,028 stocks rise, including 5 stocks hitting the upper price limit such as Com2uS Holdings. Meanwhile, 519 stocks declined without hitting the lower price limit, and 94 stocks remained unchanged.
