Meeting to Encourage the Dreams and Challenges of Busan Citizens Followed by a Visit to the Mayor's Office
President Yoon Suk-yeol visited the area of Gukje Market, Busan's representative traditional market (Gukje Market, Bupyeong Kkangtong Market), on the 6th, where he encouraged merchants while eating street food with business leaders.
According to spokesperson Kim Soo-kyung in a written briefing, after holding the 'Busan Citizens' Dreams and Challenges Encouragement Meeting' at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center that morning, President Yoon visited the Gukje Market area to communicate with citizens and encourage merchants.
This was President Yoon's first visit to Gukje Market since taking office.

Upon arriving at the market, President Yoon shook hands with citizens who welcomed him while chanting "Yoon Suk-yeol Fighting," responded with "Stay healthy" and "I will take care of Busan," and then toured several stores guided by Lee Sang-woo, chairman of the Gukje Market Prosperity Association, and Park Yi-hyun, chairman of the Bupyeong Kkangtong Market Merchants Association.
From the entrance of the market, merchants held up papers that read "Thank you for your efforts on the 2030 Expo" to express their gratitude to the presidential entourage. President Yoon promised the market merchants, "I will further develop Busan."
He also emphasized, "I will attract foreign investment companies to the Expo exhibition site and develop Busan even more than when we hosted the Expo."

President Yoon then stopped by a street food restaurant in the market and ate tteokbokki, bindaetteok, and bibim dangmyeon together with accompanying figures including Park Hyung-joon, Mayor of Busan; Lee Jae-yong, Chairman of Samsung Electronics; Choi Jae-won, Senior Vice Chairman of SK; Koo Kwang-mo, Chairman of LG; Kim Dong-kwan, Vice Chairman of Hanwha; and Cho Hyun-joon, Chairman of Hyosung Group.
He also visited a bakery run by a young entrepreneur, encouraged the owner and staff, and left a message saying, "The most wonderful thing in the world is the challenge and courage of youth. I fully support you, sir."

President Yoon also visited a fish cake shop and shared past experiences with his companions, saying, "While working in Busan, I ate a lot of Busan fish cakes."
After visiting the market, President Yoon had lunch with businesspeople and other participants of the morning meeting at a nearby restaurant, enjoying Busan's representative dish, pork soup (dwaeji gukbap).
