BioCos of 'Larucell' Selected as a Promising Small and Medium Enterprise in Gyeonggi-do

BioCos of 'Larucell' Selected as a Promising Small and Medium Enterprise in Gyeonggi-do BioCos of 'Larucell' has been selected as a 'Promising Small and Medium Enterprise in Gyeonggi-do 2023'.

BioCos Co., Ltd., which received venture business certification and Inno-Biz certification for its premium skincare brand 'Larucell,' was selected as a promising small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) in Gyeonggi Province in 2023.

Despite the challenging economic conditions, BioCos announced on the 6th that it received the '2023 Promising SME' certification by earning high scores in job creation, sustainable management, strong technological competitiveness, high quality and innovation, and future growth potential.

Gyeonggi Province selects and announces promising SMEs every year to discover and support SMEs with growth potential within the province.

BioCos developed the premium skincare brand 'Larucell' using proprietary technology through ingredient research that ensures safety for pregnant women and people with sensitive skin. Launched in 2021, 'Larucell' has been greatly loved by pregnant women as a product with safe ingredients.

BioCos developed the product based on the insight that 80% of pregnant women experience skin changes due to hormonal fluctuations, but most give up on skincare because of the limited availability of pregnancy-specific cosmetics, banned ingredients for pregnant women, and concerns about potential effects on the fetus.

BioCos expects that Larucell will help increase the birth rate in South Korea, which has the lowest birth rate among OECD member countries.

Within just two years of its launch, Larucell has established itself as a leading domestic brand for pregnancy cosmetics. Especially overseas, word of mouth about it being a 'safe cosmetic for pregnant women' has spread, leading to a surge in purchases mainly among women with sensitive skin.

Kang Yuji, CEO of BioCos, explained, "BioCos is focusing on research and development to develop safe cosmetics for pregnant women, with over 20 intellectual property rights including patents, trademarks, and design registrations." She added, "As a result, we are steadily building customer trust, achieving high reorder rates and satisfaction, and increasing brand recognition."
