Competition Rate 37 to 1... Lowest in 44 Years
The Ministry of Personnel Management announced the final successful candidates for the Grade 7 civil service exam, revealing that 777 candidates passed, which is 57 more than the originally planned 720.
On the 5th, the Ministry of Personnel Management announced the final successful candidates for the '2023 National Civil Service Grade 7 Open Competitive Recruitment Exam' through the Cyber National Examination Center. The originally planned number of recruits was 720, but the final number of successful candidates was 777.
Regarding this, Lim Young-hwan, Director of Open Recruitment at the Ministry of Personnel Management, explained, "This is due to the implementation of the Gender Equality Recruitment Quota System, the Local Talent Recruitment Quota System, and the acceptance of candidates with tied scores."
The Gender Equality Recruitment Quota System is a policy to balance gender ratios by additionally passing candidates of the underrepresented gender if their number is less than 30% of the planned successful candidates. Through this system, 8 additional candidates passed in four recruitment units: the Korea Post, Audit, Electrical, and General Civil Engineering.
The Local Talent Recruitment Quota System aims to expand the entry of local talents into public service as part of balanced personnel management. This year, 42 candidates additionally passed through this system in six recruitment units: General Administration, Finance and Economy, Prosecution, Electrical, Architecture, and Foreign Affairs and Consular Services.
Additionally, there were several candidates with tied scores. According to the Civil Service Appointment Examination Regulations, candidates with scores tied to the second decimal place are accepted.
