Rapid Safety System Enhancement... T'way Crisis Response Drill Conducted

T'way Air announced on the 6th that it conducted a crisis response training for an aircraft accident situation.

On the 5th, the company held a crisis response training at the T'way Air office in Gangseo, Seoul, attended by executives and staff from all departments to enhance rapid initial response capabilities and joint competencies to be executed in the event of an aircraft accident.

This training assumed a scenario where a T'way Air flight, threatened with an explosion during operation, made an emergency return and landing at Gimpo Airport, during which a fire and casualties occurred due to an explosion. The response procedure also included activating the Aviation Security Terrorism Countermeasures Headquarters following the bomb threat call.

On the 5th, a crisis response drill was conducted at the T'way Air office in Gangseo, Seoul, with executives and staff from all departments attending to enhance rapid initial response capabilities and joint competencies in the event of an aircraft accident.

To recreate the actual accident situation, emergency mobilization messages were sent, and related executives and employees were gathered to activate the Accident Countermeasures Headquarters. Training on initial measures and detailed follow-up plans in each field, conducted at 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, and 2 hours after the accident, was carried out sequentially.

Jung Hong-geun, CEO of T'way Air and head of the Accident Countermeasures Headquarters, said, “Through training that is as close to real situations as possible, we must firmly establish a crisis response system so that even the smallest accident can be responded to quickly and systematically if it occurs.” He urged employees, “Based on close cooperation among related departments and safety awareness, we must continue efforts for the best safety operation at all sites 24 hours a day.”
