Seeking Measures to Alleviate Citizen Inconvenience Due to Tram Construction
On the 6th at 3 PM, Ulsan City will hold a transportation policy forum related to the introduction of the world's first hydrogen electric tram at the auditorium of Ulsan Museum.
This forum was organized to discuss the direction of transportation development, including the construction of an urban railway network reflecting the hydrogen electric tram, which will be the world's first to be introduced through a feasibility reassessment of Ulsan's Urban Railway Line 1 construction project on August 23.
The forum will be held in two parts: the first part with keynote presentations and the second part with expert discussions, attended by about 200 people including academics, transportation experts, related agency officials, and citizens.
In the first part, Dr. An Jeonghwa of the Korea Transport Institute will explain Ulsan City's road and railway network construction plans under the theme "Drawing the Future of Ulsan City - Transportation Railway Network."
Following this, Jeong Hoon, Director at Hyundai Rotem, will give a presentation titled "Technology and Development Status of Hydrogen Electric Trams" to enhance citizens' understanding of trams.
In the second part, experts from the Transport Institute, university professors, and other specialists will participate in an in-depth discussion on the theme "Challenges and Strategies for the Successful Introduction of Hydrogen Electric Trams," answering various questions from citizens related to the tram introduction.
Park Sooncheol, Director of the Transportation Bureau, stated, "We plan to promote the phased introduction of trams by comprehensively considering various opinions raised at the forum, as well as economic feasibility, effectiveness, and financial conditions," adding, "We will also minimize citizen inconvenience by providing sufficient prior notice and preparing optimal alternatives for the expected traffic disruptions during the construction period."
