The white paper includes the status of COVID-19 occurrences and responses in Daejeon from the time the first confirmed COVID-19 case was reported in the region (January 21, 2020) to the downgrade of the alert level (from Severe to Caution), covering quarantine and medical responses, economic support and livelihood stabilization, and post-COVID policy recommendations.
The Silver Prize was awarded to Namhae, Gyeongnam and Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi, while the Bronze Prize went to Gongju, Chungnam; Seo-gu, Incheon; and Muju, Jeonbuk.
Nam Si-deok, Director of the Citizen Sports and Health Bureau of Daejeon City, said, “The participation of multiple departments in producing the white paper, which recorded the vivid situations on the front lines of the COVID-19 response, led to this excellent result. Daejeon City will share COVID-19 response cases with medical institutions and local governments nationwide to help with future emerging infectious disease occurrences and response situations.”
