The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced on the 6th that it will hold a seminar on the "Operation Performance and Improvement Measures of the Preceding and Current Auditor Opinion Discrepancy Adjustment Council."
Since 2020, following the introduction of the periodic auditor designation system, the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants has established and operated an adjustment council for discrepancies in opinions between companies and auditors to alleviate difficulties arising from such disagreements.
The seminar, to be held as a webinar on the 12th, will present research results on the council's operational performance and improvement measures over the past four years, and seek ways to facilitate and improve the council's future operations through expert discussions.
Kim Young-sik, President of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants, stated, "Discrepancies in accounting treatment opinions arising from auditor changes between companies and auditors are very significant issues," adding, "I hope this event will serve as an opportunity to review the achievements the council has made in narrowing opinion gaps between companies and auditors and to explore future directions for the council's development."
